A complete backyard home with a full kitchen, separate bedroom, bathroom and vaulted living space. A covered entry extends the home outside, while the interior makes room for everyday living in a compact footprint.
A home of its own.
The aim here is a space that works as a complete home. Cooking, bathing, sleeping and living each have a place, with a separate bedroom and a kitchen peninsula that adds work surface and a spot to sit.
Make the main room feel open.
The vaulted ceiling gives the living space height, and the sliding glass door brings in daylight. Keeping the kitchen connected to that room helps the main space feel open rather than divided into small compartments.
Carry the care outside.
The finished work includes the covered entry, lap siding and exterior trim as well as the interior cabinetry, flooring and bathroom finishes. The sheltered entrance and adjoining patio give the home a useful transition to the backyard.
